Patients!

Have you ever wanted some sort of private examination, assessment or check-up from your NHS GP, something a bit more comprehensive or frequent than you would expect on the NHS?

You might have already made enquiries. You will have found that your GP has been unable to accommodate your wishes due to the restrictive nature of the bureaucratic NHS regulations.

You might have the option of some private establishments nearby, which tend to be very expensive and inflexible, but in some areas there will be no choice at all.

However NHS GPs are in fact allowed to carry out private health checks and assessments but only if at the request of an outside agency.

GPMedicals is an independent commercial organisation that is now able to facilitate such private examinations for you with your NHS GP.

It’s a simple process, as follows:

1.   First you pay the small arrangement fee of £4.99 to GPMedicals. This can be done
securely and immediately here on line via Paypal on the
Payment button. Alternatively
complete the payment form on the leaflet (see print a leaflet page) and return it with a
cheque to GPMedicals (takes five working days).

2.   On receipt of the payment, GPMedicals will send you an official authorising request letter
for your general practitioner, which will allow him/ her to carry out the examination. This
should be carried out within 30 days.

3.   You are then able to make a suitable appointment with your doctor. Discuss your
individual requirements and agree the relevant medical fees beforehand.

4.   Attend for your examination to be performed..

5.   You pay the doctor's fee and

6.    You receive a medical report.

The beauty of the arrangement is its flexibility, as any examination can be tailored to your requirements (blood tests, investigations etc) as opposed to conforming to an off the shelf product.

You are advised to find out what check-ups are available at your practice on the NHS (usually with a health care assistant or nurse) before making your informed choice.
